Windows 10: External speaker popping in Win 11

I just got a new MSI laptop Stealth 16 with Win 11, and have since day 1 experienced frequent popping in my external speakers. My previous mac had no such popping, using the same speakers.The popping seems to occur only when no or low audio is playing. For example if I have no audio playing, and sometimes I switch between tabs or open a new browser or program window, there is a brief pop in the external speakers. If I have my headset on, the popping will still occur in the external speakers, interestingly. I also experience popping when I listen on high frequency music like meditation music

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble connecting your external speakers to your Windows 11 device via Bluetooth. May I know if there are any error message ?

For the meantime, here are a few steps that you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Make sure that your external speakers are turned on and in pairing mode.

2. On your Windows 11 device, click on the Start menu and then click on Settings (the gear icon).

3. In the Settings app, click on Devices.

4. Click on Bluetooth & other devices.

5. Click on Add Bluetooth or other device.

6. Click on Bluetooth.

7. Select your external speaker from the list of available devices.

8. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process.

Windows 10 popping sound in speakers

Hi,

I have the exact same issue and I went through all the steps suggested above but none of them helped. I get the popping sound when any kind of audio is on. Even when external speakers or headphones are plugged in.

Do you have any other suggestions what to do?

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down the issue and to provide you better assistance.

• Does this issue persist in all apps and media player?
• Does this issue persist in other Audio output device (i.e. headphone, external speakers etc.)

I suggest you to restart the computer. Remove any external plugged in devices (except mouse, keyboard, internet connection and speaker), perform clean boot and then try to play audio and check if it helps. Clean boot will help you to recognize the program
that is creating the pop sound.

A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application services or startup item is causing this issue.

Disclaimer: After you have finished the troubleshooting, refer to the section
“How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot” to boot the system in normal startup. The steps given in above link are for Windows 8.1/8/7 but it also work for Windows 10.
