Windows 10: Extra Cursor and new Circular Disc-Like Images on my Display all of a sudden

Hello. This issue started today. When I started up my HP laptop earlier today I saw something new and different. There is now appearing on my display a new extra cursor in the upper left hand corner of the screen, which does not appear to be functional in any conceivable manner. There are also now present with the new extra image of a cursor a total of ten circular disc-like images arrayed horizontally in the upper left hand corner of the display. I found an article here regarding the extra cursor, which suggested trying starting up in safe mode. I did so, and the extra cursor was still presen

I am not suggesting that the mouse hardware is at fault, I am suggesting there may be an issue between the .NET framework (which I believe the MS SDKs rely on) and the display/ rendering of the mouse cursor.
I find it hard to believe you have no mouse drivers installed, how is Windows displaying and moving the cursor without some form of driver?




You should have something akin to the above image, my system uses the Windows built in mouse drivers. If you have no drivers (which I still think you do have) then that could be the root of the issue. *Smile

It seems that the system image is corrupted. For further checking, we'd like to know more information about the issue.

• Did you create the disc image?
  
• Were you trying to restore your computer using a Windows 10 system image?

cursor dissappeared

Thank you both for your prompt replies, I tried all steps listed, some I had tries previously but I still tried them again, but still no cursor.

Do you have any other suggestions?
