Windows 10: Extra Floppy Drive?!

For some reason, Windows says I have a floppy drive, even though I don't have one connected, or even in the computer case! But when I try to do something with it, Like try to place a disk in it, nothing happens! Please tell me how to fix this ghost floppy disk!

1. What is the current Windows 10 build version installed on your computer?
   
2. Are you able to use the Floppy drive on a different computer?
   

As there is a prompt on the screen saying the software is loaded, I suggest you to open the Disk Management and see if you are able to see the device under it.

Follow these steps to open Disk Management.

1. Press and hold the Windows + X key on the keyboard.
   
2. Select Disk Management.
   

Scroll down the Disk management window and check if the Floppy drive is visible, if yes.

• Right click on the Floppy drive.
  
• Click on Change drive Letter and Paths.
  
• Click on Change.
  
• Assign the drive letter you need and click on
  OK.
  
• Click OK to close the window.

Thank you for responding.

To resolve the issue, please follow these steps:

• Plug in your external floppy disk drive.
• Click Start, type Device Manager then hit
  Enter.
• Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers and look for your external floppy disk drive driver and right-click.
  
• Click Update Driver Software then Search automatically for updated driver software. Make sure you are connected to the internet.
• Wait for it to finish the update.

We are really sorry to say that the Floppy Disk Drive has no compatibility with Windows and there is no support to floppy disk drives.

For further more clarifications I would suggest you to check/Contact with the manufacturer.
