Windows 10: extra storage?

I have the acer nitro 5 laptop and I could of sworn it said 1TB. But, upon looking again, it says 256GB. I have only three games installed Sims 4, and Bioshock 1 and 3 and don't have enough room to install anything else. Can I buy more storage? When I bought it, It came with an HDD upgrade cable, is that what it's for? For an external hard drive or something.?

I want to add extra storage to my Surface Pro 3. I have 128gb on my HDD and would like to add at least another 64gb.

Would I be better with an SD card or Flash Drive?

I suggest you to update Storage controller drivers and check if it helps.

Steps 1:

• 
  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Select Device manager.
  
• 
  Expand Storage controller.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and Update the drivers.
  

Steps 2: Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue
is with device. Refer these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

OneDrive referral link not giving extra storage?

Hello,

I understand that if someone makes a OneDrive account through a referral link, you'd both receive 500mb extra storage for your OneDrive account.

I have sent my referral link to a friend and she made a new OneDrive account through that link but we both haven't received that extra storage.

How come?
