    Extract a .WIM from an .ESD?


    Hi guys,

    I'm trying to make a 10 Pro 10586 image with MDT 2013 Update 1 and I cannot use the ISO I got from the Media Creation Tool. I realized this is because the ISO now uses a install.esd instead of install.wim; I read that it is possible to extract the .wim from a ESD file...

    Any ideas?

    Open WIM File - PowerISO should extract the windows installation media files.

    Thank you so much Sumit!! I downloaded PowerISO and was able to extract/open all of my .wim files from my external hard drive. It took forever to open each folder and file within all 68 .wim folders, but I was able to recover almost everything from before
    the crash. I could not find any solutions on Google or Microsoft. You are a life saver! Thank you again for offering a good solution and for responding quickly.
