Windows 10: EXTREMELY bizarre freezing after leaving PC idle. The most frustrated I have been.

I have been having this issue for days, and it's extremely frustrating.

Basically, here's what happens. If I leave my PC idle for more than a few minutes, it freezes. But this isn't your typical freeze, it's behavior that I've never seen before in my 10 years of using Windows. Applications that are already open will be usable, such as clicking through reddit or watching a youtube video. However, anything with the OS is completely broken, like the start menu, which shows up completely blank. If I were to press restart it would close all running applications and then - that's it.

I need to hard restart with the power button. Here's where it gets weirder: If I use Win+L to lock the computer, I can leave it for as long as I'd like. It's just when it's unlocked this strange behavior occurs.

I've tried so many things, including safe mode, malwarebytes scans, windows defender scans, rootkit scans, sfc /scannow, everything short of reinstalling Windows, which I seriously do not want to do.

As I mentioned earlier this is the most bizarre and frustrating problem I've had with Windows 10. Please, any help is appreciated. I'm getting desperate here.

Hard freezing on idle

Ok so this is unbearable.My laptop freezes on idle in a few minutes,abd needs to be restarted. I tried fresh clean feature but it either freezes or doesnt work. I tried istalling one from the media thing and still it froze.I tried reseting the pc and it cant move past 1%. Is it something with hard drive ? I am becoming frustrated guys !

 

Extremely high idle memory usage

Here is your first step:

1- Open Task Manager to the Processes tab and look at the Memory column.

2- What process(es) are using so much of your memory?

 

Bluetooth still on while idle

Thanks for following the steps. Now, the settings won't take effect if you are only using normal PC idle mode. Normal functionality of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings are to stay connected even if PC is idle. With the settings that you have created, we would
suggest that you set your PC to automatically go to Sleep or
Hibernate once idle. In this way, the settings "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" should take effect.

To set your PC to automatically go to Sleep or Hibernate when idle, please follow these steps:

• Open Control Panel, set view by: Small
  icons.
• Look for Power Options.
• Click on Change when the computer sleeps on the left pane.
• Set a timer.
