  1. Extremely odd and frustrating chain of problems. Please help!

I've been having a lot of strange problems with Windows 10, recently. I hadn't updated for a while, and did so last week. Since then, said problems have been emerging. I will list the events in a somewhat comprehensive chronological order:

-Update PC. Don't recall what version I was on, don't recall what version I updated to.

-I start to notice that a service i'd never seen before, Cryptographic services, is always using up about 40% of my CPU and always reading and writing to my drives. Tried to disable it but nothing would work, it'd always restart itself.

-opening anything takes about 4x longer than it used to, including basic applications, from file explorer to command prompt. PC takes forever to start. Check drives, none are even close to full. No evidence of corruption, as of now.

-BSOD starts happening, for various reasons. Kernel errors. Numeric errors I've never seen. No evidence of malware. Drivers are updated. BSOD become more and more frequent.

-sometime during all of this I realize my computer never updated to the latest version of Windows 10 but somewhere in between. I try to update but get error after error, from 0x8000FFFF to eventually it would just say there's an update process missing.

-Try to run system scan to look for corruption, gets stuck at 100% verification. Try to look at logs and find I'm blocked from opening it by administrator. But I am administrator. I've been able to open events before, but now nothing I do will let me open events program. Opening it's properties crashes file explorer. Wtf

    • Windows diagnostic checks have broken. When I try to use them I get the error code 0x800705B4.

-BSOD have stopped today. Idk why. Maybe it's something I did but I'm not sure. Everything is still super slow. When I try to use window's tools to get a clean install or some kind of reset of the system, it gets stuck in the first couple of steps of the process and won't continue.

-wtf is going on? I've never had any of these things happen before and they all happen at once. I haven't downloaded or even been near anything sketchy. I haven't filled my desktop with beans. I'm far from a PC technician, but this is just overwhelming.

If anyone needs any more info I'll be glad to give it. If anyone can help me at all it would be much appreciated. Maybe this is a common chain of issues for you guys, idk. PC's been great for two years now, and I need it for University (and would rather not lose my data).

    Odd monitor problem

    Odd monitor problem *NEW INFO*

I have a monitor (listed in my specs) that sometimes does not turn on when the computer is started or brought out of sleep mode. If I unplug the power cord & plug it back in it works fine, no other problems with it at all. Any thoughts? Is it eminently going to fail, should I RMA?
