Windows 10: 'F1' Opening browser help tabs that use to never do so

Discus and support 'F1' Opening browser help tabs that use to never do so in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; I read numerous other posts on various forums about this issue but it seems to be a normal/built-in command for F1.     I read numerous other posts on various forums about this issue but it seems to be a normal/built-in command for F1. I've never had this happen previously. I've updated to the latest windows 10 update and even since then it's never happened until today at random. I was playing a game that prompted me to hit F1 for an action but instead it tabbed me out into a Chrome help page. It was also happening on Edge and my first instinct was to uninstall Edge which of course did nothing but make Edge open then immediately close after hitting F1. Now it just opens Chrome any other time. I also saw that it

    Help F1 opens Edge even if not the default browser

    I noticed that pushing F1 to get help from windows automatically opens Microsoft Edge even a different browser is set as default.

    pressing f1 opens a web browser.

    What are you expecting F1 to do? With Chrome open, pressing F1 brings up the Chrome help page. The script you tried is outdated and designed to prevent F1 from opening Windows help, which doesn't happen anymore.

    SOLVED: Multiple Tabs Opening in Edge and Chrome

    Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your suggestion worked for me, too. I recently purchased a new illuminated keyboard and did not disconnect the old one. Little did I know that the F1 key was stuck on the old keyboard. After reading your suggestion, I checked my old keyboard and couldn't believe the solution to my problem was so simple.

    I have already done an Acronis restore to two different dates and the problem persisted. Can't say how much I appreciate your suggestion.
