Windows 10: F8 desktop extend option not working

Lenovo Laptop -Model 20351


Kindly note that Im not able to connect to externa monitor as it says i need to reinstall drive or use a different video card.. Can you please advise which is the drive i need to install from the pc support ?



Also i came acroos the above rror message wen i tried doing automatic driver update.. Kindy advise why

How to extend desktop across two screens on homegroup

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to refer to the below steps and check if it helps.

• 
  Right-click the desktop, and select
  Properties or Personalize.
  
• 
  Next select Display Settings from the list of
  preferences.
  
• 
  You should see icons with numbers representing your attached monitors. If one is disabled, it will be grayed out.
  
• 
  Select the second monitor and choose to either
  extend your desktop or mirror your desktop.
  
• 
  Your options may be dependent on the graphics card that you have
  installed.
  
• 
  You may need to make these changes from within your
  control panel. If you have these installed, they can be found in your
  Start menu

Hi Elda,

If the boot sequence didn't work, then we suggest try running the laptop in safe mode. To do this, here's a few steps to follow:

• Power down your laptop.
• Turn it back on again.
• When you turn it back on, press F8 repeatedly until the power on option appeared.
  
• If you see the boot option "Safe Mode with Networking", choose that option.
• See if you can boot up in Safe mode.
