Windows 10: Face Sign-In Option Stopped Working

facial recognition sign-in worked well until about a week or so ago.... checked account settings, and under sign-in options (windows hello), it says "face and fingerprint recognition are not available on this device"... the only thing I did after experiencing this was to install latest windows update hoping it would fix it... I have windows 10 home version 1809... please advise.... thank you

My hello sign in stopped working.
