Windows 10: Face Sign-In Setup Not Working

Hi,


I have a Surface Go 1 and when I go to set up Face Sign-in and I get to the screen where it turns the camera on and tells me to make sure my face is centered in the frame, it just hangs there. I have tried everything I can think of to fix this.


- The drivers are up to date and all working properly.

- I have the latest updates installed for Win 10 Home as of 6/25/2020

- I am not and really do not want to run a developer preview or something like that.

- The IR scanner and the camera are both clearly working and turning on when I make it to the set up screen mentioned above.

- I have tried multiple resets. I even tried just fresh installing Windows 10 from bootable media.

- I have run DISM and SFC

- I have tried recreating the Ngc folder as I found one post mention. That allowed me to recreate the pin but it did not fix the face sign-in issue.


I have my A+ cert so I kind of know what I'm doing. I'm not a specialist or anything and don't have a MS cert, but I'm not a newbie, so if there's something more complicated I can try, I'm all in.


Is anyone else encountering this issue? I want to make sure this is not a software issue that MS will just resolve in time before I resort to warranty support.

Windows 10 OS - face recognition setup doesn't work

I am trying to setup face recognition in my laptop but it doesn't work at all. There are no options to recognize face or it doesn't proceed to next screen.

Steps Followed:

1. Opened Sign-in option screen

2. Clicked Face Recognition Setup

3. Windows Hello Setup screen opened

4. It asks "Make sure your face is centered in the frame"

5. It doesn't proceed next and there is no option other than "Cancel" button.

Please help.

As per your query, I suggest you to change the Sign In option and check if it helps.

To change Sign In option, follow the below steps.

• 
  Type Setting in the search area on the taskbar and select
  Settings.
  
• 
  Select Accounts.
  
• 
  Select Sign In option on the left panel.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
