Windows 10: Facebook and Instagram New Authorization for Pages with large audience

Pages give businesses, causes and communities the ability to connect with people around the world. In April, we announced plans to help ensure these connections are authentic and more transparent. Today we’re introducing Page publishing authorization starting with people that manage a Page with a large audience in the US. We’re also adding primary country location and Page merge details to the Page Info tab we introduced in June.

New requirements for people who manage Pages with a large US audience

Now, people who manage these Pages will be asked to complete an authorization process in order to continue to post, making it harder for people to administer a Page using a fake or compromised account.
Authorization asks people who manage these Pages to secure their account with two-factor authentication and confirm their primary country location.

If a Page manager requires authorization, they’ll receive a notice at the top of their News Feed to begin the process. This should only take a few minutes to complete. People won’t be able to post on their Page if they don’t complete the process. Enforcement will follow shortly this month.

Adding more Page Info

People will also start seeing more details in the Info and Ads section of Pages:

Going forward, we’ll show when a Page has merged with another Page under Page History.

We’re also adding a section called People Who Manage This Page, which will surface the primary country locations Pages are managed from, initially appearing on Pages with a large US audience.

And in the coming weeks, Instagram will introduce similar features which will allow people to see more information about accounts with large audiences.

Our goal is to prevent organizations and individuals from creating accounts that mislead people about who they are or what they're doing. These updates are part of our continued efforts to increase authenticity and transparency of Pages on our platform.

Facebook, Messenger and Instagram apps coming to Windows 10

Today, we are excited to share that the official Facebook app and Messenger app for Windows 10 PCs and Tablets, and the official Instagram app for Windows 10 mobile are rolling out and will be available later today in the Windows Store.

Designed to run quickly and easily within Windows 10 and have the most up-to-date features, Facebook built Windows-only experiences into all three of these apps such as Live Tiles, which lets you quickly see new posts, messages and photos right from your home screen.

Facebook

Keeping up with friends is faster than ever with the new Facebook app for Windows 10, the best way to experience Facebook on Windows. With Live Tiles, you can easily find out what your friends and family are up to at a glance. And now, reading and sharing articles from News Feed is quick and easy with an in-app browser. Other features include Reactions, stickers in comments, notifications so that you don’t miss important updates, and a right-hand column that shows birthday, event reminders and trending topics.

Messenger

Along with many of your favorite features of Facebook’s Messenger — like photo sharing, stickers, group conversations and GIFs — Messenger for Windows 10 PCs has desktop notifications so you never miss an important message. And when you pin the app to your Start menu you’ll get notified of new messages with Live Tiles.

Instagram

The team over at Instagram is rolling out Instagram for Windows 10 mobile with all of the community’s favorite features — including Direct Messaging, updated Search and Explore, Videos and Account Switching. Instagram also supports Live Tiles, so if you pin the app to your home screen you’ll get notifications from Instagram right on your start screen.

We’re thrilled to have this collection of apps available from Facebook for Windows 10 users coming to the Windows Store to download for free today and we’re excited to share that more great experiences from Facebook will be coming to Windows 10 mobile soon – stay tuned. Windows SDK for Facebook

We’re pleased to announce a new open source library for integrating Facebook into your Windows apps. The Windows SDK for Facebook is geared towards app developers creating Universal Windows apps on both desktop and phone. The SDK supports universal Windows app for Windows Phone 8.1, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Using this library, you can easily integrate Facebook Authorization, Like, Graph and other Facebook functionality into your app. This library is also fully native so the CLR is not a dependency. Where to Get the SDK

The SDK can be found on GitHub: Microsoft/winsdkfb.
If you are developing a universal Windows app for Windows Phone 8.1, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 and are currently using the Facebook .NET SDK (http://facebooksdk.net/), we recommend that you evaluate the new Windows SDK for Facebook for use in your app. The new Windows SDK features are listed on GitHub.

This new SDK carries forward the most popular capabilities of the existing .NET SDK. Should you identify any key features missing, please submit a feature request on the Windows SDK for Facebook GitHub repo.

Any Facebook page / group expert????

Any facebook experts here? I have this annoying problem with one of my groups. When I post content on my group it appears on a small corner on the left hand side at the bottom called "post to page". It's very annoying as my audience don't get a good chance to see it.

On my other page whenever I post content it appears in the center of the page at the very top, which is what I prefer.

I have no clue why this page is acting like this, it never used to until recently. Does any know why it does this. If a genuine facebook expert can help me I can post some screenshots and go into my detail about my issue.
