  1. Factory reset laptop still unable to open Microsoft store or install apps

    Howdy,

I ran into a problem a week ago trying to download games from GamePass in which I was receiving error 0x80073d26 and could not fully download and install the necessary Gaming Devices from the Microsoft Store. I ended up changing permissions to the WindowsApps folder to try and see what was going on. Following that I was unable to open the Store so I factory reset (delete all files, Deep clean and cloud download) but after setting up the laptop I am still unable to open the Microsoft store. I get a generic error pop-up that states I don't have the permissions to open the store and when I click on the store icon, nothing happens. I've factory reset the laptop several times now, but still the issue persists.

Its really had to believe Microsoft is hanging there hopes on GamePass for the future of gaming and yet I can't regularly download or install games on any of my three PCs. Anyways, does anybody know how to COMPLETELY wipe a laptop? Obviously it is keeping around SOME information if a software issue persists between factory resets.

    Thanks!

  2. Unable to install apps from Windows 10 Store

I'm unable to install / update / repair any app from Win10 Store.
I couldn't find any solutions, hence posting here.

This keeps happening despite repeatedly resetting Windows.
Once I reset my PC, Store seems to work for about 1~2 days and then starts showing the following error msg:

[Image of error msg while installing any app through Windows 10 Store]

    I followed what Microsoft suggested:

    1. reset Windows 10 Store app through cmd and gui [both failed Factory reset laptop still unable to open Microsoft store or install apps :(]
    2. almost every link suggested by Google (windows 10 store not working - Google Suche)
    3. Also contacted Microsoft Support as a last resort, but to no avail.

Lastly, I thought this was because of my University's restrictions on Win 10 education; however, other PCs & laptops [with same version of OS] don't seem to have this problem.

It is able to update Windows apps like Microsoft Office 360 and other system apps distributed through Win10 Store.

Has anyone else faced this problem before in any dist. of Windows 10? Did you find any solutions?

    PC config details:

    • Alienware Aurora R7
    • Win10 Education V1809
    • Intel Core i7-8700K @3.70 GHz
    • 32 G installed RAM
    • Nvidia GTX 1080Ti

  3. Apps won't install in Microsoft Store

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand your concern as you are unable to install apps in Microsoft Store. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers
    to the questions below:

    • Do you have any non-Microsoft antivirus program installed?

    • Does this issue occur for all apps from the store?
    • What is the date and time on the PC and ensure it is correct?

    Meanwhile,
we would suggest you to perform these steps and after every step check if you are able to install the app.

    Step
    1:
Reset the Windows Store Cache: Press the Windows
    Logo Key + R
    to open the Run
dialog box, type wsreset.exe, and then select OK.

    Note:
A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

Step 2: Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter: Select the
Start button, and then select Settings>Update & Security
    > Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows
    Store apps
    > Run the troubleshooter.

    Step 3:
Refer the troubleshooting steps and mentioned
    in this article: Fix
problems with apps from Microsoft Store

Step 4: If you have any non-Microsoft security/antivirus software installed, disable it temporarily and
    then try installing the game.

Step 5: If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and
check, refer this article to create
a local user or administrator account in Windows 10

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps.

    Method 1:

Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run.
    2. In Run dialog box, type
      wsreset
      and hit enter.

The store will restart automatically after the command completes.

    Method 2:

Sign out and sign in again to store.

    1. Open Microsoft store by clicking on the
      Store icon on the taskbar.
    2. Now on the top right corner click on the
account icon and click on the account name.
    3. Now click on Sign out to sign out of Microsoft Store.
    4. Click on the account icon again and click on
