Windows 10: Factory Reset Windows 10 - NO PASSWORD and "THERE WAS A PROBLEM RESETTING YOUR PC"

Hello everybody,


After several tries and research online I still cant make it work...


I am trying to factory reset an old Acer Aspire. I dont remember the Windows Password, and I dont have any way to be able to recover it.


So I am trying to do a factory reset. So, doing a restart while holding Shift brings me to the troubleshooting page, and when I try to factory reset from that menu, after multiple tries, the same message appears: "THERE WAS A PROBLEM RESETTING YOUR PC - no changes were made".


All the tips to solve this point me to using the cmd prompt as an administrator, but I cannot since I do not have the account password. I also tried loading default settings from the BIOS, but nothing changed.


I dont have any idea how to reset the computer without having any CD or USB with windows inside I dont have them.


Do you have any suggestions, something I could try to make it work?

BTW, there's no jumper for a password reset in Windows.

 

Windows 8 PC reset

I have used this software from Passcape called Reset Windows Password, to reset a Windows 8.1 administrator password on, that was even linked to a online account and it worked fine.
