  1. "Fade or slide menus into view" in Performance options keeps unchecking itself

A long time ago, I have noticed that the option "Fade or slide menus into view" in Control panel - System and Security - Advanced system settings - Performance options always unchecks when I log in to my profile. First I thought it only happens when I reboot the PC but while I was investigating this problem, I switched to another profile on the PC and logged out of my profile and then logged into my profile back. And it was unchecked again. Also, I noticed that it doesn´t uncheck immediately when I log in but after a few seconds probably when certain services and programs load. Because of

  2. Turn off Windows 10 Task View sliding animation

Only with OFFICE 2016 products, windows weirdly slid around when they were selected and moved - far delayed behind the mouse movement. I had to use WINDOWS-U first, to turn off 'Show Animations in Windows' - this deselected several things in the Performance settings dialog mentioned above. This helped 90%, but the window movement was still slightly delayed behind mouse movement when dragging. The final change that worked was the Show Window Contents While Dragging getting turned off. Performance is now snappy like it ought to be (as it IS for ALL other apps on the machine!). Turned off: Animate controls and elements inside Windows, Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing, Fade or slide menus into view, Fade or slide ToolTips into view, Fade out menu items after clicking, Show window contents while dragging, Slide open combo boxes, and Smooth-scroll list boxes.

  3. Scroll bar disappears (auto hides) in Windows 10 and Office 2013

I went to Settings as suggested, typed performance, then clicked performance options, and unchecked "fade or slide menus into view" and "fade out menus after clicking". The scroll bar is visible all the time now, it just turns a lighter grey w/o mouse
pointer over it! YAY! No more disappearing slide bar! It may not work for all......I have Win 10, Office20 16.

windows 10 creators update + win 10 fall update lag

    Hi,

Based on the result, it seems that there is no issue with the system files on your PC. For your to continue troubleshooting, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

    • In the Windows Search bar, type Advanced system
      settings.
    • Once the System Properties window is open, go to Advanced
      tab.
    • Click Settings under Performance section.
    • Select Adjust for best performance and customize the visual effects.
    • You can remove the check mark for the following:

*Fade out menu items after clicking.

*Enable transparent glass (you will lose the cool Aero look though).
