Hello friends! I have a problem with windows server 2022 21h2. 2023-05 Cumulative Update KB5026361 update failure 0x800f0831

Usual fix for that is an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data like any 'upgrade' procedure. I seem to recall that was suggested in your previous thread. Tutorial available, and I've posted a 4 step short-form procedure many many times. Were you to search tenforums for 0x800f0831 you might find e.g.

couple of days ago I realised that my search bar in the bottom left isn't working. After an small investigation i found out the my windows update got an Error 0x800f0831. In the CBS.log I found this:

I tried to find 'Microsoft-Windows-Hello-Face-Migration-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.19041.1' in the update Catalog but I couldn't found it.

I don't know how to fix this problem. Therefor i am grateful for any suggestions.

Anyone able to help me with the subject problem, Win 10 pro 21H2

SSD is not full and in good health.. do have AV (Kaspersky internet security) but it exited during all repair attempts.
Been having this problem since about feb 2022... I left it as I hoped MS would detect and fix in later updates.. but no joy
So I took a look..

0x800f0831 is a missing package.. so I checked CBS log.. and missing package seems to be

MS advice --> Error 0x800f0831 installing an update - Configuration Manager | Microsoft Docs

Says to go to MS update catalogue and download the package.. but I cant find the stated package.. or work out how to convert the package name mentioned in the logs.. to a package ID.. any ideas?

I did use the DISM tool to scan health.. and it identified the issue, and said it was repairable, but using the "Restorehealth" option did not work.. it always fails.. with a 0x800f081f error..

I expected it to work in online mode.. but it didnt work.. so I downloaded latest windows 21H2 ISO and used that as the source WIM/ESD ... but it failed with same errors..

So I thought I would just nuke it.. and so downloaded the media creation tool and told it to upgrade.. and keep all files/apps
But that failed as well .. with a 0xC1900101 - 0x2000D "Installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation"

So I am at a loss..

Any ideas? or should I give up and consider the install trash and start again?

Shout if I have missed anything.. or you have questions..
