Windows 10: Failed to delete '...StartupCheckLibrary'

Hi,I have gotten through pages of solutions but none was regarding my problem, here I go.I've been having issue with "StartupCheckLibrary.dll" and found here on this site a solution StartUpCheckLibrary.dll missing! , but there came another issue: I cannot delete it in Autoruns. I receive the "Failed to delete '\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\StartupCheckLibrary'" info and that's it. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?Best regards,Michal Kogut

Trouble deleting a folder

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Unable to delete a folder - Invalid folder name


Suggestion:

1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
   x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
   NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.
