Windows 10: "failed to forward request through maestro" in News app in Windows 11

For several months now, I get this error when I click on a toast from the Windows News app. It should open a news article page within the app, but instead, I get a black page with the following code:"{"title":"Failed to forward request through Maestro.","status":404,"detail":"2023-07-28T00:06:51.2237886Z - Request host is not accepted for any route. ","instance":"urn:microsoft:error:0HMRTUG3M1EAB:00000003","extensions":{}}failed to forward request through maestro"I tried un-installing the app, restarting my computer, and then re-installing it. Made no difference.

News app failing to load news after clicking on news article title in notification centre. Page shows: "Failed to forward request through Maestro"

I've been getting the same Maestro/404 error message when clicking on the item in the notification box for weeks now. I tried resetting the app but no effect. Note the app itself works fine. I messaged the MSN news site as suggested in another post, but that was sometime in June but I have not heard back at all..

When clicking on a news article in the Notification centre to open the article in the Microsoft News app I see a blank page with errors in the following format:

{"title":"Failed to forward request through Maestro.","status":404,"detail":"2023-06-28T03:13:55.9556332Z - Request host is not accepted for any route. ","instance":"urn:microsoft:error:0HMR705PV6CDQ:00000003","extensions":{}}

This just started yesterday and is still happening.

a request for device descriptor request failed

Maybe it's time to step back from the current efforts, and start over. I suggest you read over this excellent tutorial and try all of its steps: [Solved] Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) for Windows 10 - Driver Easy. The one that may provide you with some easy relief is the one where you uninstall the device whose descriptor is failing, reboot, and see what happens when device enumeration recurs during boot-up. If you're lucky, it will fix itself.
