Windows 10: Failed to install 2019-10 cumulative updates for Windows 10 Version 1903

I am experiencing repeated failed attempts trying to install Cumulative update System KB4517389. Each failure results in this error message 0x80073701 and a Retry prompt, which also fails.


I am trying to install this update on an Acer Aspire laptop, Model E5-573-58ZF, purchased in November 2016. This is the first time I have experienced an update failure on this PC. (By the way, I was able to install this Cumulative update without a problem on my 4 other PCs -- 3 desktops and 1 other Acer laptop).


I prefer assistance from this community because I consider it to be much less risky than seeking help available on the Internet.

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.

V 10.0 build 10240
