Windows 10: Failed to install update to Windows 10, version 22H2

I just spent the last 6 hours trying to get this update installed on my system. It always downloads, installs, restarts, then once it has restarted it fails at startup saying "We couldn't install updates". In the update manager I get "Failed to install on ‎9/‎15/‎2023 - 0x80242016". I have verified I have plenty of space on the drive for updates. I have tried various things pointed out on forums with similarly stated issues. So far I have tried the following, 1. Windows update troubleshooter - It detected issues, claimed it fixed them. No effect. 2. Manual install of update. No effect. 3. Perf

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

How to get the Windows 10 2022 Update version 22H2  

If you can't install it from windows update you can try to install it manually, it's the same KB5015684 obtained with windows update.

Do dism and sfc /scannow commands before and/or after installing it.

 

Fail to install: Feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2 and Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602

Took a few tries, and that solved some issues but caused a new one.

My process:

1. Ran Setup.exe
   
   1. Try 1 failed at 17%, blue screen error "Stop Code: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION"
      
   2. Try 2 failed at 57%, blue screen error "Stop Code: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION What failed: Ntfs.sys"
      
   3. Try 3 completed update process
      
2. Tried to run Windows Updates as usual through settings
   
   1. Successfully installed: Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.387.507.0)
      
   2. Version 22H2 shows installed today in About>Windows specifications (not showing up in Update History "Feature Updates" section, not sure if that's a problem or not)
      

New problem - this update failed to install:
2023-02 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64 (KB5022729) (0x80073712)
Status: "Some update files are missing or have problems."
