    Failed to replace bootres.dll


    Hi guys,

    I have this really annoying problem that I cannot even solve.


    3 weeks ago, I have decided to change my boot logo to another logo. I searched everywhere on the Internet and I have created another bootres.dll. I tried to replace the bootres.dll file but it just keep saying 'You need permission to perform this action'. I have tried to take own the folder, I tried to make my account full control but I realized I ignore the problem said: "Access is denied". I even insert a USB Installation Disc and clicked Repair this computer, I opened notepad by Command Prompt and try to copy the file but i still couldn't copy the file.


    Please help!

    DLL Missing


    The problem is, that the required DLL is not actually even listed there.
    There are just dozens of download adware links from the top to the bottom.

    I actually posted the link for the "list of troubleshooting steps to resolve your boost_threads.dll problems" which is located half way down the page. I did not mean to promote any downloads.

    Why don't I just go back and indicate that on my original post? That way there's access to the 'step-by-step' instructions, which are accessed via those green 'plus' signs next to the topics.

    I have the file and I have administrative rights. How do I change permissions in the Windows\System32 directory to allow me to copy the replacement file into the directory?
