I get this error when i try to isntall forgefailed to run processor: java.net.UnknownHostException:launchermeta.mojang.com pls help me

failing to install Java and Forge

Hello!

So I'm trying to install Forge used for modded Minecraft. Java is required for it to be able to install but after I go through the process of installing it, the installer tells me the following: (i would add a screenshot but the files are failing to upload unfortunately)

You have successfully installed Java

You will be prompted when Java updates are available. Always install updates to get the latest performance and security improvements.

This would be great news if it weren't for the fact that it doesn't appear to be installed at all. If I download the Java uninstaller tool it doesn't detect any versions of Java on my system. So when i try to open Forge (downloaded from their official website) with Java, I get the following error message:

Java Installation Not Completed

Unable to install Java

There are errors in the following switches:

"C:\Users\myname\Desktop\forge-1.8.9-11.15.1.2318-1.8.9-installer.jar";.

Check that the commands are valid and try again.

After this and many other tutorials I came upon one that told me to run the check disk command (chkdsk) and the following came out:

I'm unsure if fixing this chkdsk error will fix my problem and I don't really know if I'm in the right place for this but I hope I am.

wndows 11 causing java crash

Sony Sound Forge 7 won't open since Windows 10 upgrade

Tried to open my registered Sony Sound Forge 7 software program today and realized that since Windows 10 upgrade, like some other software programs affected, this one won't open.

(1) Tried some of the suggestions in regedit but didn't see all of the Sony entries listed in the steps

(2) Tried opening with "run as administrator" - didn't work.

Any suggestions?
