  1. Failed to start up, failed to do automatic repair. Command prompt shows X Drive

Today i ran Ableton Live on my pc and then it crashed so i had to force shutdown it. When i restart my pc, i go back to Abortion Live i chose not to recover from the saves done just now later my screen turned black for a few sec and return normal, but the screen freeze and i cant do anything so i force shutdown the pc again.

When i start up the pc, nothings show up and it then turned to a blue screen with nothing on it, and i press ESC, then a menu shows up and i pressed F11.

I tried startup repair but it didn't work and safe boot didnt work too after i press restart only the blue screen with nothing on shows up.

I checked the command prompt and it shows X:\Windows\System32

Is it normal that the pc boot from X drive? How can i start up my pc??

    :)

  2. command prompt is x:\windows\system32

My computer crashed and I have tried everything I can think of you restart, but the command prompt starts with x: instead of c: I've tried the fixes suggested and listed below:

In Command Prompt, type DISKPART, press Enter.

When it loads type LIST DISK.

Choose the Windows hard drive by typing SEL DISK # with # being the desired disk number from results.

Then type LIST VOL which will provide a list of the various partitions with their assigned drive letters in Recovery mode which may be different than in Windows.

But when I type in DISKPART is says There are no disks to show

    Any ideas?

  3. Windows 8 Acer will not factory restart or refresh. Fails automatic repair.

I have a Windows 8 Acer, I was trying to factory reset it. It failed the reset and also failed the automatic repair. It says Log File: C:\system32\logfiles\srt\SrtTrail.txt after failing. I tried the following in command prompt as I've seen it suggested
    and it didn't solve anything.

    • bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
    • bootrec.exe /fixmbr
    • bootrec.exe /fixboot

Windows won't reset or restore, Automatic repair loop

    Hi Bruno,

When the Automatic repair fails, we can suggest using the command prompt from Windows 10 Boot Options menu to run bootrec commands to fix the files the Auto Repair couldn't. Here are the steps:

    • On the windows Recovery Option, choose Troubleshoot >
      Advanced Options
      .
    • Select Command Prompt.
    • Enter the following commands in the Command Prompt:
    • bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
    • bootrec.exe /fixmbr
    • bootrec.exe /fixboot
Once the repair is done, restart your PC and check if the issue is resolved. Let us know the outcome, so we could provide further assistance as necessary.

We'll keep an eye out to your response.
