Windows 10: Failed Updates (Error 0x80070643)

I have recently purchased a new laptop and made the necessary recent updates, however 2 updates continue to fail to install.


Definition Update for Windows Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Definition 1.281.1453.0) - Error 0x80070643


Update for Windows Defender Antivirus antimalware platform - KB4052623 (Version 4.18.1810.5) - Error 0x80070643


I have done some research online in order to troubleshoot this failure, however there does not seem to be a clear fix, install, or patch.


DISM and SFC were both ran in the admin command prompt, however both failed.


Since the laptop is new I tried the reset function however it did not work. Trying to rollback the updates also did not fix this issue.


Can I please get some assistance on this matter, as I am perplexed as to receiving these errors on a new system.

Try to apply the update manually As suggested by Microsoft. I just wrote a
step by step guide.

However be sure that the update itself is downloaded and that the installation part is failing, and not the downloading part.

I have the same problem. Windows Update Troubleshooter fixed something but still get KB4013214 failed to install - Error 0x80070643. It's been trying for weeks.
