Windows 10: Failed windows 10 update forcing into a loop

Hello,I have a Lenovo Ideapad 310 that got stuck on an update from 2019,once the update was downloaded i would let it install but the installation stayed ongoing for 3 days straight then it proceeded to attempt to restart i don't recall if that happened or if i manually shut it down,and ever since then the laptop would not let me shut down or restart without attempting to install the download forcing me to put it to sleep,which seems to have let the pc slow down and now it is stuck on an indefinite loop of booting up,showing the lenovo logo,going to the next screen saying 'getting windows re

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

Windows 10 forced download

I actually had a client call yesterday with an email problem. when I tried walking him through some steps, he says "Yeah, I don't see that there, but I think it's because it's updated to windows 10. It did that a few weeks ago. I came back in on Monday, and it said Welcome to Windows 10"..... I think I'd throw the computer out the window.
