  1. Failing Disk... maybe?

My PC will not start windows even in Safe mode. I've managed to access the system with a shell OS but cannot see my 250GB SSD which is my c:\ drive, has some data and my OS license. When I plug the the SSD into another PC with as an external drive it shows up in Disk Manager saying it is "Healthy EFI System Partition" but it does not show up in File explorer and a right click in disk manager has all the options greyed out.Any ideas how/if anything can be recovered?

    :)

  2. Disk management console view is not up-to-date

i dont know how to fix your disk management, but i can fix your partition problems...

open up Command Prompt with admin rights. (Right click, run as admin)

    enter in
    DISKPART
    list disk

then find the Disk number for your Raid array... lets call it number 7 ( you can tell what disk is what by the total size)
    type in

    Select Disk 7
List Partition (will give you a list of all the partitions..)
Select Partition 1 (im assuming you only have 1 partition on Disk 7) repeat this step if you have more partitions.
    ASSIGN

that should get the array up and running ready to use.

    EDITED.

    any problems, post back ^^

Still EDITING *Stick Out Tongue Failing Disk... maybe? :p

side question, have you tried restarting the PC?

  3. Windows 10 fails to update

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

    Failing Disk... maybe?

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Failing Disk... maybe? :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
