Windows 10: Failing to reinstall windows 10

I had tried to reinstall windows via the recovery method because every time I tried to do a full-scan or windows offline defender scan they would either pause on me or full-scans would just cut off. The same problem occurred with Malwarebytes scans. For all cases I checked task manager and no resources were being pulled towards other applications. Before resorting to deleting and reinstalling windows I tried recovery but that did not work and I did tests such as Memory test 86passes with 0 errors, sfc /scannowpassed, and chkdskpassed just to see if it was a problem with my ram or storage

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
