Windows 10: Failure to copy/paste Folders &/or sub folders?

Anyone here have experience with copying directory/Folders/sub-folders wherein some data Is missing, without generating a stop or fail message? I see numbers of threads on the web about such issues but no comprehensive diligence on causes and tools/utilities

Copy folder and retaining permissions of sub folders

Hi

We have a system where to open a job, we copy a template folder which in itself has sub folders. In it there is a sub-folder where not everyone is allowed to see.

When we copy the template and paste it to create job, all permissions set in the template sub folders are changed to that of parent folder. maybe this example can help.

Template

Folder 1 (exclusive permissions)

Folder 2 (same as parent permissions

Copy and Paste Template Folder

Folder 1 (now takes same as parent permissions)

Folder 2 (same as parent permissions

Hi Paulette,

You can move the sub-folder by dragging the sub-folder from the other Picture Folder up to the main Picture Folder. However, the sub-folder will remain as a sub-folder.

If you want to make the sub-folder as a stand alone folder, we suggest that you create a new folder on your desired location, then move over the files from the sub-folder to the new folder that you created.

Can't Copy/Paste Into Folder

I created a folder on my desktop (Windows 10). I then created a sub-folder inside that folder.

I need to copy/paste some info into that sub folder but the "paste" feature is grey when I try to paste information on the clipboard to the file.

I can paste the information/data to other items/locations such as Word and Notepad and so forth, but I cannot paste anything to the sub-folder (nor even to the folder).

Note: everything is located on a Solid State Hard Drive if that makes any difference. I'm the administrator (the owner of the computer) and I'm the only person who ever has used this computer and I created the file. All that. So it seems I should be
allowed to copy a file into something that I create and use. ...Just sayin'.

I started working on this problem yesterday and have about four hours into it without a resolution. I've tried all sorts of admin/privileges/permissions sort of stuff but have not found anything that works. I've looked at a number of sites (including Microsoft)
for solutions but nothing I've found seems to work.

Lost and frustrated.
