Windows 10: Failure to load non-Google sites

My laptop is connected to the internet. So is everything else in my home. However, on my laptop, I can only load Google, Facebook, and YouTube. Nothing else will load. I have tried every possible suggestion that I have found when I search using another device. I believe it is a Windows issue. I have also just discovered that everything loads properly when I am somewhere other than my home. There seems to be a disconnect between my laptop and my internet, although the laptop is connected to the internet - I just can't load anything other than Google sites. Is it possible that there is an ISP issue or a firewall block? Please help! I cannot do my job without this laptop working properly. Thank you.

Can't access to Google sites any more

For me to properly assist you with your concern regarding accessing Google sites, allow me to ask the following information:

• When did the problem start?
• What was the statement that appeared when you access Google sites?
• What browser are you using?
• Have you tried using a different browser?
• Are you able to access websites other than Google sites?
• Is your laptop connected to a public hotspot or to your home network?

By the way, kindly check your laptop's update history for us to verify if an update has taken place. Follow these steps:

1. Open Settings > Update & Security.
2. Under Windows Update, click View installed update history.

One site (Pinterest) no longer loads in Edge but it will load in IE11.

You've tried all the obvious things I would have suggested, but there is one more you could have a look at, the 'Use Microsoft Compatibility List' setting. This is hidden on a 'Developer settings' page which you get to by typing about:flags in Edge's address bar. Are the 'working' Edge PCs also on 1607? If so, compare this settings page on the Edge that doesn't work with the settings for one that does and see if they are different. If only the 'non-working' Edge is on 1607, then try turning 'Use Microsoft Compatibility List' on or off and see if it makes a difference.

 

Issue with Google Chrome loading but Internet Explorer works fine

I have a windows 10, MSI gaming laptop and recently had a hard drive failure. Swapped the HHD out for a SSD. I booted into a Recovery USB and windows loaded. Soon after I started seeing issues with google chrome. Before the hard drive failure I never once
saw an issue with google chrome.

Whenever I launch Chrome, the web pages are slow to load/ do not load at all. I receive the Error ( ERR_TIMED_OUT) frequently. However, internet explorer and edge will work just fine.

I have forgotten the WIFI from Network list then restarted my computer and issue persisted.

I have reset/turned off my router/modem, restarted my computer and issue persisted.

I have reinstalled/updated my Wireless internet driver and then did previous steps above and issue still persists.

Not sure if anyone on here knows if there is a problem with google chrome, but I have not found any similar post out on the internet.
