Windows 10: Failure to Recognize the Primary Storage Device SSD

I just downloaded the current version of the Windows 10 ADK and used it to create a USB drive that contains WinPE. I then booted that WinPE drive on a new laptop Dell Inspiron 15 3250 that I just acquired. When I run the DISKPART command and attempt to perform List Volume the only device that is recognized is the USB drive used to start WinPE.For what it might be worth this also happened when using some prior versions of WinPE that I'd created quite a while ago. I thought maybe the SSD device was too new for those versions of WinPE to recognize which is why I decided to create a new one t

VMware-usb storage device not recognized

Hello,

I'm running Windows XP in Workstation Player on a Windows 10 laptop.

My USB CD/DVD drive is able to mount in the Player. So is a flash drive.

My Western Digital ssd (My Passport Ultra) is listed in "Removable devices", but fails to mount, giving this error:





In the Virtual Machine settings, the USB controller is using usb 2.0.

The WD ssd is compatible with usb 3.0 and 2.0, and is supported by Windows XP. My desktop computer running Win XP has no problem mounting the drive.

The device manager in virtual Win XP shows it as an "unknown device."

I've read everything I can find on the problem, and tried a number of suggestions from the knowledge base at VMware as well as solutions via google searches.

Perhaps the WD ssd just won't work on the free version of VM Workstation Player (v. 14).

Anyone have any suggestions?

My m.2 ssd is recognized in bios, but not as a boot device

• Visit the ASUS official website to download the latest BIOS update for your ROG Strix B650 Wi-Fi motherboard.
  

3. Reinstall the SSD

Ensure that the M.2 SSD is properly installed:

• Remove the SSD and reinsert it firmly into the M.2 slot. Make sure it is securely fastened with the screw.
  

4. Initialize the SSD

If the SSD is new, it might need to be initialized:
