Windows 10: Failure to reset computer

i have a dell inspiron 17 model 5559 that hasnt been updated in two months due to the updates failing and then me being away at college. I recently decided to try and update the computer following my coming home for spring break and found that i was missing enough updates to get a message in yellow saying an item along the lines of the computer was missing critical stability and security updates. i then proceeded to try and update it again, however, the device could not install one update and was stuck on installing 100% for around 2 hours. After restarting to see if that fixed the issues, i found out the updates didn't install. I then tried to reset the computer and selected keep files because i have AMD Radeon R5 M335 4GB graphics card that came preinstalled in the device and didn't want to lose the control and access to the card itself. It had failed once and then said undoing changes on the logo screen for about 1 hour and then when it finished, it said it could not reset the computer. I then tried through the manufacturer's own recovery system, Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery, which also failed to even start recovery operations as it got stuck on the downloading cloud recovery files part. I then tried resetting it a third time, however this time i proceeded by using the reset option through windows boot menu however this has also ended up failing.So i was wondering what do i do to fix this and get the computer to reset and allow it to have a fresh slate.

To help you with your concern regarding the reset failure, let me suggest you to do a startup repair. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key
• Hold Shift key then click Restart
• You'll be prompted to the Advance Startup Options
• Select Troubleshoot
• Advanced options
• Startup repair

Windows 10 infinite restart black screen

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it

 

One computer cannot access other network computers.


So I've tried every troubleshooting step I know:

• Double checked that Net Bios was enabled
• Ran a bunch of network commands:
  • flushed DNS
  • registered dns
  • pinged and located the named computers successfully
• Reset my router to factory settings

Nothing works when I try to access via explorer. I'm still baffled by the fact that every other computer can access each other AND access this computer. It's just the outgoing connection from this machine that doesn't work.

Any thoughts?
