Windows 10: Failure when attempting to copy boot files

Im trying to recover using advanced tool option. For the bcdboot command using c: was not working. When i checked My PC, i found Window folder in X drive. And so should i use X: instead of C: in the command in this way "bcdboot x:/windows /s w: /f USFI"

Failure when attempting to copy boot files (WinPE)

Hello,

for some reason the bootable windows installer does not work properly on my PC so I am trying to install windows 10 with WinPE.

I successfully apply the install.wim image with dism but when I try to copy the boot files with "A:\Windows\System32\bcdboot A:\Windows" I get "Failure when attempting to copy boot files".

Anyone know what I can do? I made sure the partition is active.

So it all started with my laptop getting the "An operating system wasn't found" error when trying to boot up Windows. I'm using instructions from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/3103656

I got to this part: "bcdboot C:\Windows /S C:" but when I enter that into command prompt, I get the "Failure when attempting to copy boot files" error.

What do I do?

 

Java.nio.file - Copying files

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one
