Windows 10: Family and Drives

Hi folks


My 2 eldest have a laptop to share. I'm the admin and I've created for them family accounts. All is good so far. What I normally do next, for ease of backing up and so on, is to change the location of documents/pictures and so forth to D drive. However, I've now noticed that this will mean that each user and see the files of the others. In effect, I was expecting each family member to have their own portion of the D Drive but me, being admin, would have my own but also be able to see theirs. Is there anyway I can make this happen? The C drive is a SSD and there is a SATA hard drive which is called D.


I want the C Drive purely for windows and office et al, i.e., software. I remember something years ago when I did something similar when I installed a program I was given the option of the other users being able to use it too or similar.

Hi,

It could be because of the settings on the Family and Safety feature or the account you're using is added to a Family. With that being said, we suggest that you check if the account that you are using is a part of the
Family list. To check on it, go to Cortana
and search for Family Options.



To remove your account to the Family, you may follow the steps below:

• Use the Adult account to log in using this link.
• Click on the Family tab.
• On the account that you want to remove, click More > Remove from family.
• Then click Remove to confirm.
