Windows 10: Family organizers are not able to remove themselves from the Family Group

My self and my husband are organizers on our Microsoft Family Account and neither of us can seem to remove the other, or ourselves, from our Family. I tried contacting chat support and they were not able to figure out why it is happening "case number 7031143797" and referred me here.What is happening is, when I try to remove myself from my family, by clicking the three dots and clicking "Leave Family Group" I then get the confirmation message: Are you sure you want to remove yourself?If you remove yourself, you'll no longer be able to manage your family group or see its activity. You will lose

Family Organizer Leaving Family Group

• If Mother was the administrator of the Family Group, you can exit the Family Group directly, and Mother will automatically become the Family Group organizer.
  
  If you want to stay in the Family Group, you need to rejoin, either as an administrator or as a regular Family Group member.
  
  Visit Getting started with Microsoft Family Safety for more details.
  

• If Mother was already a member of the Family Group, you need to remove her from the Family Group, then add it again, and need to select "Administrator" when selecting the role.
  

Meanwhile, you can dissolve the Family Group, and then let the new organizer send an invitation to re-establish the Family Group. Visit Leave family group or remove members (microsoft.com) for more details.

Unable to remove another Family Organizer

Hi Gerald, I am , a fellow Microsoft user like you.

You cannot remove the organizer as a member. You can try to have a proper conversation with the organizer and ask to adjust the family group settings. Alternatively, you can leave the family group yourself. To leave the family group, follow these steps outlined here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-bil...

Keep in mind that if you are using a child account, you cannot leave the family group by yourself. You need to ask the adult who granted consent to remove your account from the family group.

 

Family Organizer Leaving Family Group

I'm family organizer and want to turn this over to mother of children. Mother is organizer in the family group. I went to child's account, clicked on drop down and selected "remove consent". Warning that follows concerns me. "They will no longer have permission to access certain MS sites....." Can't I just turn over the family organizer role to the mother?
