Family Safety Child is not an Administrator

I have entered a child's account in Family Safety. The account on the PC is a standard user! But when I click on the child in the Familiy Safety admin console, I get the message: "Child is set as administrator to PCNAME, therefore certain Family Safety features will not work". But this message is wrong, because the child's account is clearly a standard user. Where is this message coming from. Because, for example, blocking pages does not work. I have already restarted all user accounts on the PC, but to no avail. What do I have to do? ***** moved from german to english Community *****

  2. Family Safety - add device to child profile

Since this is the case and you have ensured the settings are correctly setup in family Safety, we suggest that you sign in using your main account and remove you child's account from Family Safety list. (Refer to the image below for reference.)

After completing the steps, attempt to use the email address of your child to login to the computer and see if the same error message still shows up. If the error no longer shows up, we suggest that you attempt to add the account back then to Family safety.

    Regards.

  3. Windows 10 Family safety - child can disable all feature, why?

    Hi,

There may be a sync issue with the restrictions that has been applied to the child account. To isolate your concern regarding Family Safety, we recommend that you follow these steps:

    • Remove the Child account on the Family Safety website.
    • Change the passwords of your account.
    • Add the Child account again.
    • Add the restrictions to the Child account again.

Keep us updated with the results if your child will still be able to turn off the Family Safety feature after performing the steps above.

Family Safety Child is not an Administrator

Switching account from administrator to child & problems with family safety

    Hi,

Having recently bought a new laptop for our 9 year old daughter, I have been struggling to get her over to being a child account within Microsoft Family Safety. These are the steps we have taken (whether right or wrong):

    1) Child initially signed into new laptop which was windows 8 as the 1st user so had administrator rights,

    2) I have since setup a 2nd user as administrator & attempted to switch 1st user to a 'child' without any success. Kept telling me it could not access Microsoft family safety,

    3) Have since updated machine to windows 10 (in the hope this may resolve these user issues),

    4) Have assigned an email address to child account & received email from MS family safety which have responded back to,

    5) When I login as my 2nd user administrator, it still will not let me change over the 1st user to child as is still saying pending awaiting response from email (which I have already done). So 1st user is still not joined my family.

Please provide the correct steps in how to resolve this problem? Note that I would like to avoid setting up new users & deleting old, as imagine will lose user data / history since having new machine. My child is currently using machine without any internet
security so wan this resolved ASAP.

    Thanks
