My son recently upgraded to a brand new PC preinstalled with Windows 11. The old PC that he used runs Windows 10. In Windows 11, he cannot send requests for more time. Nor can I grant more time for him. However, on the PC running Windows 10, it works just fine. He is using a roaming profile for both PCs.I have tried to fix the problem by:1 logging both him and myself in out of Family Safety. No change. 2 Restarting both PCs and trying again. No change. 3 Removing all screen time limitations for him. No change. 4 Removing him from the family group altogether. No change.5 Removing myse

Windows 10 Family Safety time limits not working

I had this exact problem and these are the steps I took to get the issue resolved:

    • Navigate to family safety settings and remove the child from the family having issues.
    • Login to the childs account and launch Settings (windows key + i)
    • Click the Accounts icon and select Sign in with local account instead
    • Follow the steps to change to a local account. When completed, Login back to your account (admin account)
    • Go back to the family safety settings and add your child back to the family group.
    • Access your childs email address to accept the family invitation
    • Verify the child now shows properly in the family settings and that the screen times are still correct.
    • Login to the childs account and launch Settings (windows key + i)
    • Click the Accounts icon and select Sign in with microsoft account instead
    • Your family settings should now take affect.

I know this is pretty tedious, but like I said, it worked for me. If you are still having trouble, I suggest contacting support and they can help walk you through the steps to get it resolved.

  3. Windows 10 Family safety - child can disable all feature, why?

    Hi,

There may be a sync issue with the restrictions that has been applied to the child account. To isolate your concern regarding Family Safety, we recommend that you follow these steps:

    • Remove the Child account on the Family Safety website.
    • Change the passwords of your account.
    • Add the Child account again.
    • Add the restrictions to the Child account again.

Keep us updated with the results if your child will still be able to turn off the Family Safety feature after performing the steps above.
