Windows 10: Family safety screen time not working but app blocking works

Windows 10 PC 2/29/2024Screen time is set to 0 minutesHowever the child account is still able to login on the device. I can block apps and that is working properly. I have checked for updates, checked it’s a standard user account, verified the child account. No idea why this is not working…..

Family Safety App Blocking Not Working

Hi Mike,

Let's make sure that the apps you mentioned are properly blocked to ensure that your kids will not be able to access it. To do that , follow the steps below:

• Log in to your Family Safety account.
• Click App, games & media.
• Toggle on the Block inappropriate apps and games option.
• Under Limit apps, games, and media from Store, click the drop-down list to adjust the restriction.
• In the Blocked apps & games list, check if Google Chrome is included.

Let us know if your child is still able to do some search even though it's already blocked so we can further assist you.

MS Family Safety working erratically

Dear Microsoft and community,

Family safety activity reporting is not working properly. I have set up my son's PC to block certain apps and have screen time limits. The limits appear to work. About 2 months ago the activity reporting stopped working, and I could not see how much screen
time and which apps were being used, though it did have a list of web sites browsed. Today I notice the opposite is occurring -- the time reporting is working again, but now there are no web sites browsed (though there are in fact). But also now certain apps
and games that were blocked are being used, even though they are listed as blocked. I have unlinked and relinked my son's account to the Family account. Can anyone tell me what is going on? This Family Safety feature feels completely unreliable. We depend
on it to keep the peace in our family regarding screen time. Frustrating.

Family Safety screen time stuck on old settings

• I set up family safety settings under windows 8.
• Configured screen time options to for only daytime, so as to prevent my son from using the computer too early or too late in the day.
• I've upgraded the computer to Windows 10 (live update, not a fresh install).
• Now I want to change the screen time settings for my son. Nothing I have attempted (short of clean install of Windows) has worked.
  • Changing time settings doesn't work
  • Turning off Screen Time doesn't help
  • Removing/Adding his account from family safety doesn't help
  • Removing/Adding the computer from family safety doesn't help
• I don't see a Windows Family Safety service running on the machine, which is odd.
• I really don't want to do a fresh Windows install.

Any suggestions are welcome.
