Windows 10: Family- settings for my son not working, and I can't change or remove him to try to fix

I've previously posted about my son not being able to use chome on his phone, as family safety seems to be blocking it. We can't fix it, and nobody here has been able to help.


I thought I'd try to remove him from the family group, but when I try to do that get:

You’ll need to remove consent first


Select Manage my child’s profile info, find your child, then select Remove consent for this child’s account. Then, try removing this member again.


But there seems to be no option to do that. He has also tried to leave the family group, and gets the same error. Please help!

Family Safety not working on my son's account

I have checked, rechecked, reset, turned off, turned on the settings and set up the family multiple times before I even asked my question. I removed my son's account and added it again, and it did nothing.

 

Family Safety screen time stuck on old settings

• I set up family safety settings under windows 8.
• Configured screen time options to for only daytime, so as to prevent my son from using the computer too early or too late in the day.
• I've upgraded the computer to Windows 10 (live update, not a fresh install).
• Now I want to change the screen time settings for my son. Nothing I have attempted (short of clean install of Windows) has worked.
  • Changing time settings doesn't work
  • Turning off Screen Time doesn't help
  • Removing/Adding his account from family safety doesn't help
  • Removing/Adding the computer from family safety doesn't help
• I don't see a Windows Family Safety service running on the machine, which is odd.
• I really don't want to do a fresh Windows install.

Any suggestions are welcome.

This issue might occur if there is change in family safety account.



To assist you better, please provide us the information below:

• Have you tried to log out or restart from the child's computer and logging in to the computer?
• Are you able to see the child account in the Family Safety settings after removing it?

I suggest you to refer to the steps below to remove the child account from the family safety account and also turn on
Activity reporting.
