    Fans go crazy out of nowhere and I see multiple instance of same processes for everything...


    Like the subject states. My fan start going crazy out of nowhere so I check the task manager only to find out there are multiple processes of every program was running. Like my browser has 10 instances when i have 2 tabs open, 6 instances of steam webhelper, 6 instance of discord, 30 instances of svchost, etc.What might be causing this problem? I think it is a problem because I've never seen this happen before.

    Multiple instances of Windows Explorer

    So in the Processes tab, under Apps, however many Windows Explorers I actually have open is however many it will list, and expanding will list the specific folder that is open, there is no problem there. The problem is when you scroll down to Windows processes, that's where all the multiple instances are. Right now it's only showing 7 but that is because I restarted my computer a couple hours ago, I've counted as many as 40+ before.

    Fan going crazy . . .

    Hi Somebody50, I have a few suggestions that shouldn't be that difficult.

    1) Check for a BIOS update. While you're at the manufacturers website, check for chipset and display drivers or other recommended driver updates. Please ask if you require assistance.

    2) If your PC is still misbehaving after updating drivers, perform a clean boot to determine if any third-party apps are creating or contributing to this fan issue.

    Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 10 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts

    3) Please update your details under "My Computer" and list a model number, cpu and drive info (SSD or HDD).

    4) Check if you have any warranty coverage available.

    There are more tests available if these don't provide sufficient info, one step at a time.

    Get multiple instances of the Lenovo.Modern.ImController.PluginHost process any ideas why or what it is?

    I'm running windows 10 on my Lenovo ThinkPad and have noticed that I get multiple instances of this process ( up to 6 )

    has anyone else with a Lenovo ThinkPad seen this and if so any ideas as to what it is and why there are multiple instances of it running

    I ha d not seen this on the Win 7 install prior to the upgrade

It runs wide open for a half a minute or more then shuts down to an idle, then goes up full blast again after a half a minute or so. It never ramps up or down, it's either idling or wide open.
