Windows 10: Fast internet but super slow download speeds

Today I downloaded a video game on my PC. I noticed it was downloading at between 500kB/s to 1mB/s I have a WD black SN850 drive, which is considered to be one of the fastest M.2 SSDs you can buy. My internet isn't a problem, as I am using a powerline adapter and ethernet. my advertised download speeds are 40MB/s so that doesn't seem like it should be a problem. I don't know why my computer is downloading this so damn slow. I downloaded many other games and the fastest speeds I've seen are like 5mB/s. If someone could please help me out, that would be great.

internet speed is slow at home, but really fast at another location?

When I am at home my internet speed reminds me of AOL dial up days. When I am at another location In North Carolina it is super fast and I am receiving the access from my neighbors internet. I can't understand how this could happen. When my wife is on
at home it is super fast for her, but super slow in North Carolina?? I have windows 10 and a fairly new Dell Inspiron 15 3000. It is kinda aggravating. I considered getting faster speed form my provider, but there is no problem with speed on my wife's laptop.

 

Fast Internet Speeds but downloads and whole applications very slow.

I have started to notice that my Internet was very slow suddenly 3 weeks ago. I since then started to do anything what was also said in other threads etc. (e.g this one https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/fast-internet-but-slow-download-speed/1ccc54a4-184f-42bd-ae02-46e3234a6f2a)
I have done multiple Speedtest all state that I have fast Internet (220MB/s Download 30-40MB/s Upload) but Download Speeds in Browser are for example way way slower. I was trying to download a Game (Prepar3D by Lockheed Martin) and it needed for 30,1 GB around 10 Hours. But not just Browser download speeds are awful but also Discord and any other Application using Internet is very slow. I also reset my PC 2 Times and it never worked. Hope somebody can help!

If a website has a slow server, a fast internet connection may be experienced but may have very slow download speeds. Download speed will be affected with the website server as it also impact your internet connection speed.

You may try a test with other websites and check the results with the website that you are experiencing slow download speed.
