Windows 10: Fast Startup no longer working after update to Windows 10 version 20H2.

Recently, I've updated to version 20H2 and noticed that Fast Startup no longer working anymore...




Even though I have it turned on, it doesn't work.
Can someone help me pls?
Hibernate, Sleep and others still working.

Windows 10 fast boot no longer working after update to Version 1511

I have an Acer Aspire E1-572G (Intel Core i5) with windows 10 x64 installed. Since I updated to Windows 10 version 1511 (with previous versions of Windows 10 I didn't have this issue), my computer boots really weird because fast boot is no longer working.

For instance, when I press the power button, the Acer logo appears on screen and then the computer automatically switches itself off without going into Windows, so I have to press the power button again and then it switches on correctly, but without fast
boot enabled because it takes longer to load. Sometimes, when this happens, the computer does not switch itself off during startup but restarts itself, and then again it starts without fast boot... So I assume fast boot has stopped working for me since the
udpate.

In the event viewer I have seen this:

Windows error with fast startup with error code: 0xC0000001.

Windows 10 version 20H2

The computer in question had Windows 7 on it and there was not an option to uninstall the 20H2 update. So I have reverted back to Windows 7. Is there a way to download and install Windows 10 version 2004? The games will work on that version but not the
20H2 version.

Fast Startup not working but hibernate is working.

I understand that the fast startup is not working after the check disk in your PC. We will help you.

To assist you better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• What issue were you facing to perform the check disk?
• Are you getting any error messages?
• What is the make and model of your PC?
• Which Edition of Windows 10 are you using?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Using Group Policy Editor:

Note: This option for using group policy is only available in the Windows 10 Pro editions.

• Press Windows Key + R combination and put gpedit.msc in
  Run dialog box.
• In the left pane navigate to:

• Now look in the right pane, you’ll got the policy named Require use of fast startup as shown above.
• Double click on this policy to get the window shown below.
• Now you can use following settings:
• Force “Hybrid boot” to be always turned on = Enable
• Do NOT force “Hybrid boot” to be always turned on = Disabled/Not configured
  (Default Setting)
• After making changes click Apply followed by OK.

Restart the machine and check if it helps. Keep us posted to help you better.
