  1. Faulty Ram or Motherboard

I ran the windows memory diagnostics tool to scan my ram and it detected hardware problems, i wanted to see if maybe i reseated it that i could work and i went to place the sticks in A1 and B1 slots and the pc would start to boot loop with the ram light flashing, I was wondering if it not booting up is an issue with the motherboard, when i place the sticks in A2 and B2 it is able to boot up and run. This whole issue started when i would run my pc after a few hours of usage everything would begin to bug out, google chrome would stop loading and give me errors, discord would crash and wouldnt be

    :)

Daily BSOD. Trying to Determine if Bad RAM, SSD, Motherboard, or Other

The odds of both RAM sticks being faulty are tiny, but you have said "both sticks have failed tests", and that might suggest it's some other hardware problem - the motherboard for example. Is the RAM you have on the motherboard's QVL list for example? It certainly appears that those two RAM sticks don't work in that board. Are you on the latest BIOS?

Sounds like the board doesn't like to use an XMP with that RAM.

Running the RAM at the default frequency may be better than unreliable operation at its rated frequency.

You may be able to improve matters by manually setting the voltage and timings, especially if the motherboard is fussy when all 8 DIMM slots are filled.

Just curious: is the RAM on the QVL for the board, for 8 DIMMs? (Not being on the list doesn't suggest a problem, but listed RAM should have no trouble.)

Sorry that I can't offer more solid receommendations. I used to run a P9X79 Pro (with 4 DIMMs), but retired it a few years ago. (My hobby is assembling my own PCs, rather than doing useful work with them.)

    Failing Motherboard? Faulty Ram?

    Hi BlockingTurtle,

I you performed a 4 pass scan with MemTest on all sticks of RAM, and received a Pass, then your RAM is not causing the problem, it may be your motherboard, you would need to get that tested at a PC Repair Shop.
