faulty start up W 10 -burn cmd admin to a cd /usb stick somehow?

Hi all, am currently helping re- build donated pc's for mens shed and get some thatwont start up properly. as part of diagnosis process

my idea is can the elevated cmd files be burnt to a bootable cd /usb stick so bios reads it on POST , loads and i can run some DOS such as sys info, sfc, chkdsk/ f.. to look for master boot record / HD faults. dont always get beeps RAM/HD etc.. sometimes. main supply Volts to board usually ok ext tester .

boot info usually seen on pwr up. bios accessible and looks ok.

we dont normally have the startup or recovery discs. could be variety of things. is my thinking a dud.? any ideas?

    Thanks, MG.

    :)

Installing windows off of a USB stick

    Step By Step from vista:
    From admin cmd prompt

    1. diskpart
    1a. list disk
    2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
    3. clean
    4. create partition primary
    5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
    6. active
    7. format fs=fat32
    8. assign
    9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

Burning photos to a CD Disc

    Hi Jimmy,

We suggest that you use Windows Media Player to burn the images. Please follow the steps below:

    • Open Windows Media Player.
    • In the Player Library > Burn tab > select
      Burn options
      .
    • Choose Audio CD or Data CD or DVD.
    • Insert a blank disc into your CD or DVD burner. (Select the drive you want to use if your PC has more than one CD or DVD drive)
    • Search for the items in your Player Library that you want to burn to the disc, and then drag them to the list pane (on the right side of the Player Library) to create a burn list.
    • When you're finished with the list, select Start burn.
Note: If necessary, click the Clear list button to remove all items from the previous burn list.
