Windows 10: Faxing documents from my labtop

Hello,

I've never tried to fax anything from my labtop. I usually send docs. through email. Well, I needed to send docs. to an entity that only accept fax or postal mailing. Can someone tell me how to set up the faxing option?

Unstumped! Thanks for the push Ken, into sending a new fax. The light eventually dawned on me that the file names of the sent faxes differed over several groups of characters to those of the 'new' sent fax. After a laborious cut and paste operation on all sent faxes I now have a complete record.

Out of interest, I also found this useful 'help' from M$ for missing 'sent' faxes.

• Go to the Control Panel and select Programs and features.
• On the left side select Turn Windows Features on or off.
• Scroll down to Print and Document services.
• Select the plus sign to expand.
• Remove the check from Windows FAX and Scan.
• Select OK.

To install repeat the steps and put a check mark, restart the computer.

Cannot Fax Documents using Windows Fax

Have a Server that is setup as Fax Server.

W2012 Server, all Clients are Windows 7 64bit.

It was working until recently. I have been troubleshooting and find that if I just send a text fax that I create (no attachment or files being sent) it will send the fax.

But if I try to fax a document (from Actobat Reader/ Word/ etc. it fails.

In diagnosing I find the the likely cause is that the document is not getting converted to a TIFF.. but I cannot find a solution.

Incoming faxes do get routed to a folder.

Any suggestions?
