Windows 10: feature suggestion - fun vs student profile perfect fit for corona days

here is a typical issue that many parents with kids probably are facing, especially now that remote learning became so common.

Under normal circumstances I'd like my kids to have a limited quota for using their computers, let's say 2 hours per day.

however - on days of remote learning which are most of the days now I also want them to have enough time for participating remote school activities.

The current features are very limited in allowing that, here are a few examples why:

1. there is only one "hours pool", but what I want is that during school time let's say 8:00 to 13:00 they will have unrestricted time, but in the afternoon only two hours. If I set the limitation to 2 + 5 8:00 to 13:00 hours, it means that every unused minute in the morning becomes available in the afternoon. which is not I mean.

2. there are different setting that apply for school time and "fun time", for example - it would be very helpfull to block games during school time, as its very tempting during a boring lesson : . but clearly - in the "fun time", I don't want this restriction.

3. the "screen time" became totally biased, because I can't say if 5 hours per days means 3hours of school and 2 for gaming, or 0 hours for school and 5 for gaming.


These are just three examples, but I think that overall it would be very helpfull to have multiple profiles for the same user, so I can set differnet app restrictions, differnet times and monitor it separately.

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

Please note I have suggested new features for GPU-Z before, and many of them have been implemented. *Wink
Suggestion #2 is not that hard to implement, and I believe it will be a useful addition to an already almost perfect GPU-Z app. *Smile #1 is even better.
