Windows 10: Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 - Error 0xc1900204

Hello,


I know there are several topics to this issue, but none helped me.


From this thread, I tried both solutions.


1. Media creation tool won't let me upgrade Windows 10 without deleting all my files because of:


"Your files, apps, and settings can't be kept because your current version of Windows might be installed in an unsupported directory or you're trying to install an older version of Windows."


This could be caused by the fact that I have windows installed on a separate SSD.


2. The second solution didn't work either (same error)


How can I update/upgrade my system without deleting my files? It is more than embarrassing that I have to be on a system without updates for this long and not a single attempt from MS was made to fix this.

Hi,

Updating to Windows 10 1803, the latest feature update manually should resolve your issue.

The fastest way to get the upgrade is through Media creation tool or ISO file.

Please download Media Creation Tool from the link below and select Upgrade this PC at the first screen.
