Windows 10: Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 - Error 0x80070002

Current version is 1803. Receive above error if I try to apply updates.


Previous updates were successful.


Tried the following:



1. Dism Command ” DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth ”

sfc /scannow

Windows Update troubleshooter (repairing update database, etc -- all fix options)


2. Stopping Update Service, renaming SoftwareDistribution folder to SoftwareDistributionold

reboot.


3. Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant.


All of these methods ended with the same failure. In all, I think I tried about 18 times using the various methods listed above, but using the last two methods once.


I should note this is a partitioned drive, and I have Ubuntu on the other partition, and the Windows partition has 407.6 GB total storage with 266.65 GB free space.

As stated above, current Windows 10 version is 1803, and I see no evidence that 1809 was ever applied.

Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 - Error 0x80070002

I am using a Dell Vostro 3578 which is currently running on an older version of Windows 10 (1803). Even After successful download of the latest version the system is showing an error message "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 - Error 0x80070002''.
What should I do to fix it?

 

Error 0x80070002 when trying to update Windows

I have been having issues for months with Windows 10 updates failing due to Error 0x80070002 on my gaming laptop. The full message reads:

2019-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4503286) -Error 0x80070002.

I am currently on version 1803 (OS Build 17134.590) and I'm being told "You're currently running a version of windows that's nearing the end of support. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 now to get the latest features and security improvements."

I have followed the instructions on Error Code 0x80070002 Fixed – Eassos Step-by-Step Tutorial but this hasn't resolved the problem. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Thanks for the information. I went through all the steps and had a good load, no issues. Now, I did a recheck and I'm getting: Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 - Error 0x80070002
