Windows 10: Feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2 - Error 0x80070002

Microsoft will soon cease support for my version of Wndows 10 unless I download and install Feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2 - Error 0x80070002. The update downloads 100% and then installs up to 84% then returns the above mentioned error. I have been fighting this thing for three months. It won't save the download so it uses a huge amount of my data, fails, then tries again and again.Thank you for any suggestions in order to get this thing to install or quit trying.SincerelyFerrel Kenda

Error 0x80070002 when trying to update Windows

I have been having issues for months with Windows 10 updates failing due to Error 0x80070002 on my gaming laptop. The full message reads:

2019-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4503286) -Error 0x80070002.

I am currently on version 1803 (OS Build 17134.590) and I'm being told "You're currently running a version of windows that's nearing the end of support. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 now to get the latest features and security improvements."

I have followed the instructions on Error Code 0x80070002 Fixed – Eassos Step-by-Step Tutorial but this hasn't resolved the problem. Does anybody know how to fix this?

 

Microsoft Windows 10 Update Assistant error - 0x80070002. Update Windows 10 from 21H2 to 22H2 version.

I'm trying to update my Windows 10 from 21H2 to 22H2 version via Microsoft Windows 10 Update Assistant. I am facing an error - 0x80070002.

Here is my Windows specifications:

Edition Windows 10 Enterprise

Version 21H2

Installed on ‎1/‎26/‎2022

OS build 19044.3803

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19053.1000.0

2004 update windows 10 error 0x80070002

Hello everyone,

thanks to some of the suggestions here and to some from other sources I have managed to fix the 0x80070002 error breaking up my feature update to 2004.

For completeness' sake and since it may help others, the following steps worked for me.

1. Download Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website
2. Create a bootable USB drive with the MCT
3. Boot up from this USB Drive
4. Choose install settings, click 'Next', but on the next screen select "Repair your computer" instead of "Install"
5. Choose "Troubleshoot" -> "Startup Repair" and let it finish
6. Restart into Windows and attempt the usual Windows update

It looks like the BCD on my computer had been damaged by the boot loader (Windows 10 + Recovery partition) and running the "Startup Repair" from the installation USB Drive corrected the errors.
