It feels like the people at Microsoft are still on Christmas break. Haven't heard much from them since then.

    :)

  7. Great news, am not a fan of patch Tuesday ! It's a surprise move from MS, normally they churn the updates out regardless despite known issues.

Does this also delay the cumulative update that has sitting at release preview for the last couple weeks - I expected that to come out today along with the security updates

My guess would be the new cumultive update will include the February security fixes and be a much higher build number than 726 and 726 will never make it out through Windows Update.

That was for Release Preview Insider program. Today is the normal, homeowner, Joe-public, Patch Tuesday.....which has been delayed. The two are not related.

  10. Thanks - I think you are probably right. I wonder if flash updates came through WU today as Adobe has updated it. Sorry for all the questions as i am away from my home pc at moment - but I am always curious as to what I might be walking into !

  11. Ok thanks, I was just wondering because what usually happens unless I'm mistaken is patch Tuesday we normally see three updates come through WU. One is the cumulative, one is the security update and one is for flash. So I just thought maybe it's only the security update not coming through but the other 2 would

As appears to be the case nowadays, Microsoft releases as little info as possible. Would it compromise security for Microsoft to let customers know, "We anticipate rolling out this month's update later today." Or, "...later this week." Or, "...later this month." Or, "...not until next patch Tuesday on March 14."

    I know, right. QFT.

Even just a little note saying something along the lines of "we'll provide an update on the status of monthly updates, later today" would be nice.

  15. Yes that would be a good move. I'd like to know when to clear a window in my calendar for them. At the moment they could just appear when least expected which can catch people out. If I was on my machine quickly and getting ready to turn off and go out or attend to something it wouldn't be appreciated if these came tumbling down the pipe out of nowhere. I don't expect they will elaborate though
