Windows 10: February Windows 10 Update

I am totally technology challenged so I hope this question makes sense.


I noticed when doing my full desktop back up using NTI backup software that the number of GB spiked considerably - like almost the sum of the older 3 backups on my external drive. I ran Norton to check for a virus, worm, or whatever and nothing showed up. Then I looked at the properties of both my C and D drive and found the space used on the D drive had greatly expanded. D is showing that it is 87% full. Did the February 2020 update to Windows 10 add a lot of stuff to the D drive?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
